Selling loot is you best way to make money, and you will need a lot of it over the course of the game as there is a ton of stuff to buy. Always pick up any loot that you find(even if you don't need it/have ten of them already). Enemies DO NOT scale to your character and you will run into some foes well beyond you level if you explore in the wrong direction. I always pick that trait and even on Hardcore mode it's only a little big more of a problem. I also strongly agree with this advice to take the Small Frame trait. And pay attention to your reputation with certain factions you'll eventually have to choose who to side with, and helping one group of people sometimes means making enemies with another. And for traits, I like Small Frame, unless you're playing the game in hardcore mode, in which case I wouldn't recommend taking itĪlso, while you can go around killing everyone, I wouldn't recommend it. On the other hand, don't pay too much attention to Explosives or Sneak,Īnd you don't need to bother with Melee Weapons or Unarmed that much. Don't worry too much about Endurance and Charisma if you lower them to four or five, you should be fine.Īs for skills, Guns, Lockpick, and Speech are all very useful, so focus on those Energy Weapons can be useful later on, but don't worry about it too much in the beginning of the game. For character building, I'd recommend having a high Intelligence and Agility, as those two are your most useful SPECIAL stats.
